Le chef du parti des Forces libanaises, Samir Geagea, a qualifié hier de « creuse » l’invitation au dialogue du président de la Chambre, Nabih Berry.
Estimant que M. Berry est « souple en apparence, mais intransigeant sur le fond », M. Geagea a ajouté qu’il entend examiner de près la proposition de M. Berry. Il a estimé de son devoir « de ne laisser passer aucune chance de parvenir à une élection présidentielle ».

United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) spokesperson in Lebanon Yasmina Bouziane announced that an international forces’ patrol was intercepted by two cars carrying five armed men on the night between March 30-31.

Now Lebanon: Former MP Fares Soueid, March 14’s general coordinator, said that the first condition for the success of Speaker Nabih Berri’s proposed dialogue is to end the opposition’s sit-in in downtown Beirut.
“Dialogue must be carried out in the parliament with the participation of all MPs. This will be the first step toward building the state and electing a new president,” Soueid told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.

Now Lebanon: MP Boutros Harb criticized talk of restoring the government or appointing new ministers ahead of holding the presidential elections.
“Discussing any matter before the election of a new president is confirmation of the obstruction of the political system and the coup against the constitution. This will endanger the country,” Harb said.
